The story of Denton Bible Church began in the early 1970s when Mel Sumrall began leading a small congregation in Denton, Texas.
Soon afterward, Tom Nelson, newly married and still in seminary, accepted the challenge to join Mel in leadership. Together they pastored the young church, which at that time was meeting in a rented gym and comprised mostly of college students. From its earliest days, DBC was known for expository preaching of God's Word and emphasis on equipping believers to do the work of ministry.
Today the church ministers to thousands through the Denton campus, reaches many more through its multi-faceted media ministry, and trains and supports missionaries in more than fifty countries around the world.
This engaging documentary is, above all, a testimony to God's faithfulness. It is also a chronicle of the friendship between two pastors who founded a work that has continued to impact the world for Christ for more than thirty years.
